2024 MOTOGP – LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE!

by Mar 2, 2024

2024 MotoGP liveries are fire! Before the battles on track commence, a battle off-track has already begun. And that is between the 2024 paint schemes. There is a MotGP livery war in progress!
Scarcely can I remember so much change in MotoGP colourways. From the Repsol Honda revolution to the American invasion, so many new and exciting designs are on track this year.

It seems Dorna (the owners of MotoGP and WSBK) have made a concerted effort this year to polish and coordinate the team launches. The result is a professional presentation, as evidenced by their team launch presentations page on the MotoGP website.

Run your eyes over all eleven teams in the order they were presented to the public. I’m partial to the new Repsol livery. Which is your favourite?

TEAM GRESINI RACING

No change for Team Gresini this year as they carry over their livery from last season. This colour scheme was a big change last year so the team decided to consolidate their brand colours this year. Of course, the addition of Marc Marquez may be a game changer for them.

Riders – Alex Marquez #73 (Spain) | Marc Marquez #93 (Spain).

DUCATI LENOVO FACTORY TEAM

More evolution than revolution for the factory Ducati team this year, but there is no denying the Bolognia bullet is a sexy thing as always. Of note is the alignment of liveries between all factroy Ducati racing motorcycles with the MotoGP, WSS, WSBK and Motocross teams all wearing the same schemes for the first time.

Riders – Francesco Bagnaia #1 (Italy) | Enea Bastianini #23 (Italy).

PERTAMINA ENDURO VR46 RACING TEAM

Wow! What a change for VR46. This will likely be the most visible bike on the grid this year. There will be missing the VR46 bikes on track thanks to the fleuro nose section. The fleuro flows into a red and white combination on the rest of the bike in a classy way. This really is an interestingly loud livery.

Riders – Fabio Di Giannantonio #49 (Italy) | Marco Bezzecchi #72 (Italy).

TRACKHOUSE RACING MOTOGP

The surprise of 2024, American racing team Trackhouse makes a splash with their stars and stripes livery. Paying tribute to Nicki Hayden’s 2009 Ducati test debut, the Trackhouse Aprilia is a stunner!

Riders – Raul Fernandez #25 (Spain) | Miguel Oliveira #88 (Portugal).

GASGAS FACTORY RACING TECH3

The GASGAS builds on their all red 2023 livery by adding some Repsol colours for 2024. The Repsol money was likely ‘redirected’ from Repsol Honda with the departure of Marc Marquez and the arival of Pedro Acosta to GASGAS.

Riders – Pedro Acosta #31 (Spain) | Augusto Fernandez #37 (Spain).

YAMAHA FACTORY RACING

More of the same for Yamaha this year, but it is an eye catching livery as always. If you love Yamaha blue, you can’t be dissapointed.

Riders – Fabio Quartararo #20 (France) | Alex Rins #42 (Spain).

RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING

KTM continues with the fastest Red Bull advertising billboard on two wheels.

Riders – Brad Binder #33 (South Africa) | Jack Miller #43 (Australia).

REPSOL HONDA TEAM

Arguably the biggest shock for 2024 is the Repsol Honda. The traditional Respol design has made its biggest transformation since joining MotoGP in 1995. The Repsol logo and colours no longer take pride of place and moves to the lower fairing. It seems Repsol has split its money between Honda and GASGAS with the loss of Marc Marquez and the entry of Pedro Acosta. I think this is my personal favourite for 2024.Ā Ā

Riders – Luca Marini #10 (Italy) | Joan Mir #36 (Spain).

LCR TEAM HONDA

LCR continues with their split liveries for their two riders. Johann Zarco’s bike goes full retro with the return of the awesome Castrol livery, While Nakagami gets a classy white and red design. The Castrol design harks back to the SP2 and RC45 Superbike racers of the 90’s. Stunning.Ā

Riders – Johann Zarco #5 (France) | Takaaki Nakagami #30 (Japan).

APRILIA RACING

Aprilia adds a vibrant purple to theirĀ  stealthy RSV-GP for 2024. The matte black is synononimous with the Aprilia factory and they understandably continue with an evolution of the same theme.

Riders – Maverick Vinales #12 (Spain) | Aleix Espargaro #30 (Spain).

PRIMA PRAMAC RACING

A huge change for Pramac Ducati this year, swapping the white for purple and an overall darker scheme. Personally I was never a fan of last year’s motly design, I much prefer this version. It certainly will stand out among the crowd.

Riders – Franco Morbidelli #21 (Italy) | Jorgo Martin #89 (Spain).
